Together, the Senior Leadership Team is responsible for the day-to-day running of Winnersh Primary School.  The progress of each and every child matters to us, regardless of academic ability. What unites us as a team is our inclusive approach to teaching and learning, and our belief that with the right support and a positive learning environment, all children can make excellent progress.

 

Each member of the Senior Leadership Team has a specific role:

 

Mrs Helen Powell - Headteacher

  • Overall responsibility for the school, its staff, its pupils and the quality of education they receive
  • Designated Teacher for Child Protection and Safeguarding

 

Mrs Dot Farrell – Deputy Headteacher

  • Responsible for the development of teaching and behaviour for learning
  • Responsible for the running of the school in the absence of the headteacher
  • Deputy Designated Teacher for Child Protection and Safeguarding

 

Mrs Nicola Davies – Foundation and Lower Phase Leader

  • Responsible for the management of the Foundation Stage (Year R)
  • Responsible for the management of the Lower Phase (Years 1, 2 and 3)
  • Co-Leader of The Winnersh Writing Project
  • Deputy Designated Teacher for Child Protection and Safeguarding

 

Miss Leanne Home – Upper Phase Leader

  • Responsible for the management of the Upper Phase (Years 4, 5 and 6)
  • Co-Leader of The Winnersh Writing Project
  • Deputy Designated Teacher for Child Protection and Safeguarding

 

Mrs Katherine Keeler – Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator

  • Responsible for the school’s provision for children with special education needs and children requiring additional support
  • Responsible for the school's provision for children eligible for Pupil Premium
  • Deputy Designated Teacher for Child Protection and Safeguarding
